Study of Smart Knee Actuator Cushion Using Pressure-Sensitive Materials
There are nearly two million people every year who suffer sports-related injuries and receive treatment in emergency departments. This study proposes a smart knee actuator cushion that utilizes pressure-sensitive materials to improve knee support during physical activities. The cushion is designed with an actuator system that can detect and respond to pressure changes in real-time. The pressure-sensitive materials are integrated into the cushion to accurately measure the knee’s joint movement and force. The actuator system responds by providing a cushioning effect that reduces the impact on the knee joint during physical activities, thereby reducing the risk of injury. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of the smart knee actuator cushion through experimental evaluations that show the cushion’s ability to provide effective support with easily move and reduce the risk of injury. The proposed cushion has the potential to improve knee joint health and reduce the risk of injury during physical activities.
